“Breaker of Chains” Game of Thrones Season Four Episode Three

Spoilers:

This episode was a bit of a building episode to be honest. Especially when we had the author, himself, writing the former episode. There were bits and pieces I loved about this one, though. Scenes that build up people and made you excited for the next episode.

I loved having Littlefinger back. He is one of my favorite characters. He’s a darker man of the good characters, not quite a bad character, but his undying allegiance to Catelyn Stark makes you think twice about his intentions. Maybe his love for Catelyn is the reason why he wants to keep her daughter, Sansa, safe.

Any scene with Arya is a favorite of mine. I love the tenacity of her character and how she interacts with the Hound. In my opinion, they steal the show.

The one scene that I think that I loved the most from last night was the scene of Daenerys giving the slaves of Meereen a choice. The speech was everything and the duel was great. I loved the debonair attitude Daario sported when he volunteered himself for the duel. The writers are doing a great job with his flirting towards Dany.

We did have some hints of what is to come for the future, and I think that is what I liked overall. We had hints of a battle involving the dragons, a battle against the wildlings, and we had a hint of Arya’s likeness towards visiting Braavos. This was definitely an episode you needed to be listening to the dialogue to, which made it a great follow up episode to the big shocker we had last week. I live tweeted the episode, so if you want to see my immediate thoughts on the episode, my handle is essiedarcy.

Until the next episode.
