A Crush on the Minor Character

I have a confession to make. When I watched “The Lord of the Rings,” I never had a crush on Aragorn. I had (and still do) a crush on Eomer.

I know, I know. Every girl had a crush on Aragorn, because he was this tall, dark, and handsome fellow. And I will be the first one to say that tall, dark, and handsome is definitely one of my types (cause let’s face it, I have too many crushes on fictional characters), but he just didn’t do it for me. Which is quite weird, because the rugged and mysterious characters are always the best, but Aragorn never made his way to my heart.

The first time Eomer found his way onto the pages of my book and the screen of my TV, I was done for. He had this kingliness about him that was strong and stoic, but he could be the mysterious one. I mean he led two thousand men nomadically across the Rohan lands, if that doesn’t say power and strength I don’t know what does. I think those qualities did it for me. He was strong, powerful, stoic, mysterious, and he wasn’t bad-looking. I mean he was played by Karl Urban, you can’t go wrong.

Yes, I had a crush on my hands, but little did I know this crush that I first had when I was nine, would stay with my till now. For eleven years of my life, I have loved this fictional character and to be completely honest, I don’t know when it will end. And I am certainly not complaining.

Eomer

Most Sincerely,

Jessica

  1. I had a crush on Boromir, love the character from the books and then, Sean Bean put his face to my beloved gondorian warrior… loved Sean as I loved Boromir but I got to say, my second crush is Eomer, so loyal, strong and handsome… and Karl Urban made a fantastic Eomer!
